BP sponsors the regeneration of forest in Scotland

The Scottish Forest Alliance (SFA) comprise of BP, Forest Enterprise, RSPB Scotland and the Woodland Trust Scotland. BP have pledged £10million support over the next ten years to create 10,000 hectares of new woodland, boosting wildlife and the local communities.

Industrialisation has meant that the UK is one Europe's least wooded countries and deforestation has left Scotland with only 1% of its ancient woodland intact. The initiative will see the regeneration of over 10,000 hectares of forest which will support a wide range of biodiversity. The first five sites include: Glen Finglas, Glenmore, Abernethy, Glen Quey and Limerigg.
