Sustainable change: A desulfurisation plant has been installed which removes 99.7% of the sulfur dioxide from waste gases produced during the production of pigments. Effect: Reduced sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions mean less acid rain. The sulfur dioxide collected can be converted to sulfuric acid which is then sold on to be used in the manufacture of fertiliser.
